Cakes reign but a Day.

Jane Birkin

Here is a famous song, sung in her inimitable style by the lovely Jane Birkin.
Jane Birkin was born in 1946 in London. Her mother, the famous actress Judy Campbell, encouraged her to choose a career in acting and at the age of 17 Birkin made her theatre debut in a Graham Greene play "Carving the statue". Film roles followed and she made her cinema debut in 1965 in "The Knack" and the following year secured her role in swinging sixties classic "Blow Up". The partner of French songwriter Serge Gainsbourg for 12 years (she has also been married to John Barry), Birkin has combined cinema and theatre work with a prodigious musical output, her most famous recording being the 70's erotic classic "Je t'aime, moi non plus" (first written for Brigitte Bardot, who declined the song) which she performed with Serge Gainsbourg. In recent years she has enjoyed the most success in her film career being nominated for a César in 1985, 1987 and 1992, but continues singing and making records with the greatest composers and songwriters.
Listen to this panting sexy interpretation (of 1975) and enjoy!
