Blossoms will run away -
Cakes reign but a day.
But memory like melody,

Jane Harvey

Here is a famous standard performed by the great jazz vocalist Jane Harvey.
Jane Harvey (1925-2013) was known for recording many tracks with famous musicians such as Duke Ellington and Benny Goodman during the 1940s. Harvey began her musical career at Barney Josephson's nightclub, occasionally performing there.
In 1946, she joined Desi Arnaz's Orchestra, until she left in 1958 to raise her son. She also entertained at military bases overseas with Bob Hope and Irving Berlin. Upon returning to the States, she made her Broadway debut in the 1950 Harold Rome musical Bless you all with Pearl Bailey. During the late 1950s, she joined Duke Ellington's Orchestra. Around the time of her death, she performed locally, all over the Los Angeles area.
Jane Harvey recorded several albums through the years, including Leave it to Jane, I’ve been there, the Fats Waller tribute You Fats, me Jane, Jane Harvey and The other side of Sondheim.
She resumed her cabaret career in 2011 with appearances at Feinstein’s in New York and the Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood, and reissued five CDs of her previous recordings including an unreleased session that she had done with guitarist Les Paul.
Enjoy Jane Harvey's style and voice!
