Born Frances Westerman, Frances Bergen (1922-2006) was an actress and a former model in the 1930's, the mother of Candice Bergen. Bergen's film credits range from the 1953 version of Titanic to Made in America (1993, with Whoopi Goldberg and Ted Danson). In television, she appeared on The Jack Benny Program and on Murphy Brown with daughter Candice, as well as in many TV series, such as Yancy Derringer in 1959. But she was also a very fine singer and had several engagements in major supper clubs. She made one LP in 1956, The beguiling Miss Frances Bergen.
